  1. How can I create an account under the ICAO Data Network of Aviation (DNA)?

    Please open the link https://www4.icao.int/dna, follow the steps and sign up for an account under DNA. It is important to note that even with an account under DNA, you still need to be authorized by ICAO to access any specific service within the DNA (please see Question 2).

  2. How can I be authorized by ICAO to access the Operational Control Directory (OPS CTRL) application?

    OPS CTRL is one of the services under DNA and is currently available for use. ICAO only authorizes one focal point account for each organization; the focal point of each organization will have rights to authorize multiple users within their organization to access the OPS CTRL (see Question 7).

    There are two methods to access the OPS CTRL application:

    • If you are the administrator of your organization, you can request to become the focal point of OPS CTRL and receive the rights to update your organization’s information and authorize multiple users within your organization to view the OPS CTRL directory.
    • If you have an organization focal point and require access to view the information, you may contact your organization focal point and request access to the directory.

  3. How can I become a focal point of OPS CTRL?

    To become a focal point of OPS CTRL a DNA account is required (to create a DNA account, please see Question 1). Once the account has been created, please follow the instructions below:

    • To become a focal point of an ANSP, please provide the following information to aircrafttracking@icao.int
      • FIR Name
      • FIR Location Indicator
    • To become a focal point of an Air Operator, please provide the following information to aircrafttracking@icao.int
      • The ICAO Three Letter Designator (3LD)
      • Your official Agency Name
      • Your radiotelephony call sign

  4. What is the role of focal points in OPS CTRL?

    The roles of the OPS CTRL focal points are:

    • To maintain the FIR or Air Operator contact information and keep it updated;
    • To manage users from their organizations to access the OPS CTRL

  5. What should I do if I need to change the focal point in OPS CTRL?

    Please contact ICAO at aircrafttracking@icao.int to provide the email address of the new focal point.

  6. What should I do if I forget my password?

    Please go to the login page https://www4.icao.int/dna/Account/Login and click forgot your password to reset your password.

  7. How can the focal point authorize the users to access the OPS CTRL?

    • Login to the OPS CTRL,
    • Click the button “Edit your information” at the right top corner,
    • Click the last tab “Authorized Users.”
    • Click “+” or click “Delete” to authorize/ manage users.

  8. What is the role of authorized users of the OPS CTRL?

    The roles of the authorized users of OPS CTRL are:

    • Authorized users of air operators: To search for FIR contact information;
    • Authorized users of ANSP: To search for FIR and Air Operator contact information;
      Note: Authorized users only have read-only Privileges in the OPS CTRL.

  9. What should I do if I need to change the authorized users under my account?

    You can delete and add authorized users. Authorized users require a DNA account to access the system. An email will be sent to the new user with instructions on how to activate their account.

  10. How do I login again right after I log out?

    You can click the ICAO logo on the top of the logout page to go back to the login page again.

  11. Where can I see the aircraft-tracking map?

    The button of “VIEW THE MAP” is below the button of “ACCESS THE OPS CONTROL DIRECTORY,” you can also access the map after accessing the OPS Control Directory, by clicking the button “VIEW THE MAP.”

  12. How do I look for contact information of Flight Information Regions (FIR) and Area Control Centre (ACC)?

    By inputting the FIR Name or Four Letter Location indicator in the “Search” box to find FIR and ACC contact information.

  13. How do I look for contact information of air operators and Operational Control Centres (OCC)?

    By inputting air operator name or 3LD in the “Search” box to find air operator and OCC contact information.

  1. How do I update the FIR and/or ACC information?

    Once you have been authorized as a focal point of your organization under OPS CTRL, you may update FIR information related to the surveillance capabilities and contact information by clicking the tab of ACC and/or Contacts. Please note that the FIR name can only be modified by ICAO. If your organization would like to change the name of FIR, please send an email to ATMInbox@icao.int.
